“There’s a moon in the sky
It’s called the moon
And everybody is there…”
–There’s a Moon In The Sky (Called the Moon), The B-52s
Well, don’t argue with Isaac about it. Designer Isaac Mizrahi was on TV to sell some clothes that, according to QVC host Jane Treacy, look just like the Earth as viewed from miles away on “the planet Moon”…Well, Mizrahi was not about to let that one go. He then repeats;
“From the planet Moon. From the planet Moon…?”
“Isn’t the moon a star?” Treacy asks.
“No, the moon is a planet, darling.”
“The sun is a star! Isn’t the sun a star? The sun is a star!” Treacy continues.
“I don’t know what the sun is…?” Mizrahi admits.
OK, so this sounds pretty stupid. But if you’ve ever watched the hypnotizing sales pitch on home shopping networks, it fits right in with the dictum; A.B.T. Always. Be. Talking. They natter on about THE stupidest stuff, becoming rhapsodic about hidden zippers and pearl buttons and crappy polyester. Obviously, a LOT of caffeine is involved too. But this is just DUMB. Btw, the moon is the earth’s natural satellite, the next time you get into this sort of conversation when you’re trying to sell ugly outfits on TV, OK? Watch.
Spoiler Alert: The sun IS a star!
