2015 was a great year on the Internet. With so much crazy pop culture moments, social media definitely had its way with making visual jokes about literally everything, and we’re all better for it. Here is my list of the top 10 memes that the Internet gifted us with this year.

10. Kanye West As President

During Kanye West‘s incredible acceptance speech for being honored with Video Vanguard at the MTV Video Music Awards this year, he surprised us all with his plan to run for President in 2020. I’m not sure where he stands on the issues… I imagine, affordable fashion for everyone? Every building that goes up during his Presidency must be designed with Kanye’s particular minimal style? Beyoncé wins every award ever?

Understandably, the Internet was really excited.

9. Rihanna’s Met Gala Dress

Rihanna showed up to the Met Gala in a dress by Chinese designer Guo Pei. People on the Internet immediately exploded with their ideas about RiRi’s extravagant golden cape/gown.

6. “Sure, Jan.”

If you think back to A Very Brady Sequel, there are two very important scenes one must remember. The first is RuPaul as Ms. Cummings, the guidance counselor:

Brady

The second, though, is the iconic “Sure, Jan.” This occurs during the scene where Jan tells the Brady fam about her new love interest, George Glass, only to have that bully Marcia shoot down her excellent love story.

The line has since become Internet royalty.

5. “Hello”

Unless you live under a HUGE rock, you know that Adele released her long-anticipated album 25 this year. When her emotionally moving single “Hello” was released, the Internet went INSANE with the jokes.

4. Rihanna winking

This gif of Rihanna winking is nothing but pure magic.

It has the power to tell the true story of the Revolutionary War:

As well as marriage equality:

The wink also has the power to warn you about that hoe who did it:

3. “Hotline Bling”

Aside from being a James Turrell-inspired visual masterpiece, Drake‘s music video for “Hotline Bling” created the “Drake Always On Beat” meme that pretty much made the entire Internet explode.

2. “Miley What’s Good?”

Nicki Minaj calling out Miley Cyrus at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards was the clap back heard ’round the world. A few days before the award show, Miley basically belittled Nicki’s calling out of racism in the VMA nominations in a New York Times interview. During the VMAs, though, Nicki didn’t let Miley get away with it: “And now, back to the bitch that had a lot to say about me in the press the other day. Miley, what’s good?”

1. “Why You Always Lying?”

Nicholas Fraser (AKA Mr. Why tf you lying) created the world’s biggest meme this year by going in his backyard and singing his reimagined rendition of Next‘s ’90s jam “Too Close.” The video went beyond viral.

His face has become the universal symbol for someone lying since the video made its impact.

Oh, and because it transcends culture, there was a Mexican version.

And a Kanye version.

And a club version.

And a Halloween costume was born:

Celebrities were impacted.

Wiz Khalifa tweeted the famous “mmmmmohmygod”

Chris Brown got in on it:

…but was corrected by the originator:
