Put your wands (and your nicoise salads) down because Warner Brothers JUST released the trailer for the new Harry Potter anthology movie: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
And it’s as FANTASTIC as it looks.
Initial Reaction:
Here’s what we know so far:
1) Eddie Redmayne plays Newt Scamander.
Scamander is a “magizoologist” who collects magical creatures and keeps them in his growling leather satchel. Come through Mary Poppins Realness!
Let’s not forget Grandma Aggie’s swag bag:
And of course the OG of magic – Merlin:
2) The beasts are on the loose!
Like the text book at Hogwarts, the “fantastic beasts” are on the loose. The premise of the film relies around some of the beasts that Scamander has collected have escaped.
Fingers crossed there’s some Jumanji meets Jurassic Park epic-like proportions.
3) Instead of the beloved Hogwarts Castle, the setting for this Potterverse is New York in 1926.
And rather than “muggles,” the word back-in-the-day is “No Majs” (for ‘No Magics.’)
What’s so exciting is that it’s the first time since 2011 when the Deathly Hallows Part Two released in theaters to millions of (ugly crying) adoring fans globally.
It’s giving the eleven year old inside all of us that chance to get back into our hearts in hopes that our letter from Dumbledore will arrive by owl post.
Catch it in theaters in November 2016.
