Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore posted an image of her family’s Christmas card with almost every family member armed with a gun, including her young grandson, Jake, holding a pistol.
“It’s up to Americans to protect America. We’re just your ordinary American family.”
She posted the image days after a gunman opened fire on a Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado, which reignited the gun control debate in America. Fiore is a Republican (duh) and a vocal gun rights activist who has sponsored a number of pieces of gun legislation during her time in the state Assembly, including one bill that would permit people to carry concealed weapons in non-secure areas of airports, college campuses, K-12 schools and childcare facilities. The bill passed the Nevada Assembly in April, but not the state Senate.
