Chris Brown‘s career has changed extremely drastically since he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. He quickly went from the sweet-faced boy-next-door type to the bad boy of R&B/Pop music with a public anger management problem that has manifested in a lot of crazy headlines. Needless to say, it hasn’t been easy for him (or his PR team) to clean up his image. However, he’s still working on it, and this week he took a positive step forward by the use of social media.
Breezy’s current “One Hell of a Nite” tour was scheduled to go to Australia this December, but the Australian immigration department fired back with a “notice of intention to consider refusal” of his visa application because of his domestic violence charge. He now has 28 days to appeal or he may be denied entry into the country.
To respond, Chris took to his Twitter to let his fans know where his head is at regarding the situation. The take-away, though, is that he recognized the power he has as an entertainer over the choices and lives of young people—and that because of his criminal history, he can become an example moving forward.
I would be more than grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness about domestic violence.Im not the pink elephant in the room anymore

My life mistakes should be a wake up call for everyone. Showing the world that mistakes don't define you. Trying to prevent spousal abuse

The youth don't listen to parents nor do they listen to PSA's. The power that we have as Entertainers can change lives.

Let’s hope Chris continues to take this approach in the future.
