The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the world’s biggest theatre festival and New Zealand’s leading dance troupe, Okareka Dance Company, twists Māori mythology with haka, drag queens, live Kiwi music and contemporary dance. Filled with song, dance and stories of the characters who were at the heart of Auckland’s queer scene;

“The show celebrates the LGBT community and delivers a positive message empowering the next generation of queers to stand tall and claim their own ‘turangawaewae’ – their own place to stand.”

K’rd Strip – A Place To Stand will premiere next month at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Below is a video from the Holland Dance Festival last year. It’s short but gives you their flava.
