Bond’s nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld, played by Donald Pleasance in ‘You Only Live Twice’
He’s not bald and there’s no pussy (galore) in the trailer but rumours that Christoph Waltz’s villain in Spectre is actually Ernst Stavro Blofeld persist. Today’s full length trailer has nevertheless sparked a fan frenzy of Blofeld speculation. In it Waltz’s bad guy is heard to say;
“What took you so long?”
Is it a reference to a version of the oft-used and sinister catch-phrase which is uttered in the franchise by Blofeld.;
“I’ve been expecting you, Mr Bond.”
Waltz also is heard to say;
“It was me, James, the author of your pain”
