Lady Gaga is in New York playing a series of shows at the Roseland Ballroom, which is set to close – for good – in a week. Last night, celebrating her 28th birthday, she performed for just an hour. Before she sang her last song, “Dope” she said, “Thanks for keeping me alive.” After the show, she left in this cab covered in roses. Not just ANY cab – a CHECKER cab. For those of you who are too young to remember or don’t live in NYC, these do not exist any more. I’m guessing that since she’s playing ROSE-land, this is her sartorial and vehicular homage? Not that this has to make sense. She’ll perform 6 more shows – her last being the closing of Roseland, on April 7. (photos, Pacific Coast News)
