The late Freddie Mercury, frontman of Queen, and Luciano Pavarotti, the (also-late) Italian opera star, were two of the greatest belters of the 20th century. Now, you can hear singer Marc Martel (never heard of him before) giving you what it would sound like if those two sang a duet. This goosebump-inducing video shows Martel imitating both to perfection with a one-man duet of “Nessun Dorma,” the aria from Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Turandot.” (which is the male equivalent of “I Am Telling You” from Dreamgirls.) Amazingly, Martel swears;
“This is one continuous performance from start to finish, shot in one take, using two cameras.”
You can listen to his new album Impersonator on iTunes here. If he did this on Idol, the world would fall at his feet. Watch.
